Former Holy Name Pastor To Be Honored For Decades Of Service
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A longtime Catholic leader in Chicago will be honored this weekend for his decades of service to the church.

Even at 94, Bishop Timothy Lyne's Irish eyes still sparkle. His passion for the priesthood remains undiminished.
"God's been good," he said. "People need to understand God does care and loves them."
Ordained in 1943, Bishop Lyne has served 70 years under six archbishops and seven popes.
For 48 years, he was pastor of Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral.
During his time, he's seen changes within the church, society and even the neighborhood around Holy Name.
"I remember when I first came here we ran a halfway house at the corner of Clark and Kinzie to take care of the street people," he said. "Now, you could look at all the high-rises."
If he had to do over again, Bishop Lyne said his calling would remain the same.
"I just think the greatest blessing God gave me was he allowed me to share people's' lives."
Saturday's dinner at the Sheraton Chicago will be a fund-raiser for Catholic Charities and the Bishop Timothy Lyne Home for retired priests.
