Former Cubs OF Byrd Suspended 50 Games For PEDs
(CBS) Former Cubs outfielder Marlon Byrd was suspended 50 games after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance.
Byrd is currently out of baseball after being released by the Red Sox June 9. The Cubs traded him to Boston April 21.
The outfielder struggled this season, hitting just .210 with one home run and nine RBIs in 47 games with the Cubs and Red Sox.
