Former Blackhawk Brouwer Signs Two-Year Contract With Washington
(CBS) After being traded by the Blackhawks during last month's NHL Draft, forward Troy Brouwer signed a two-year contract with the Capitals on Wednesday.
The Blackhawks traded Brouwer to Washington for the 26th pick, then took Phillip Danault from Victoriaville of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
A former seventh round (214th overall) pick by the Blackhawks, Brouwer tallied 17 goals and 19 assist during the 2010-11 season. His 262 hits were the fifth most in the league, and the most on the Blackhawks.
According to TSN's Gord Miller, the two-year deal is worth $2.35 million per season.
