Forman: Rose Is Nowhere Near His Ceiling
Derrick Rose's season has taken many people by surprise. The point guard had shown that he can improve from year to year, but no one expected this kind of a jump.
Well maybe no one but Rose, as he asked reporters on media day why he couldn't with the MVP award. And now it seems as if Rose has been all but officially handed the award by David Stern.
His improvement this season starts with he newly acquired jump shot, which makes him nearly impossible to guard. But that's not where it ends.
"It's not only his shooting, it's his leadership on the floor, both by example and vocally, it's some of the leadership he's taken off the floor," Bulls general manager Gar Forman said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "Really, everything he does is so impressive. I've said this before, you can almost see the growth weekly."

Because of what Rose has done this season, Bulls fans can stop look to the future and start relishing the present. Because with 12 games left in the season, the Bulls are leading the pack in the Eastern Conference.
However, there's still reason for fans to keep an eye on the future, because the player Rose is today is nothing like the player he can be.
"What's scary...is that he's still 22 years old," Forman said. "So I don't think he's anywhere near where his ceiling can be. And whatever his ceiling can be, he'll reach because of his incredible drive and work ethic. It's a lot of fun to watch him develop and grow, and it's a lot of fun to work with him. He's still the same guy he was the day he walked into the Berto Center, the day after we drafted him. He's very very genuine and he's just done a terrific job for this team."
