Foot Injury Sidelines Chris Sale For 3 Weeks
(CBS) -- White Sox ace Chris Sale is expected to be out of action for three weeks after suffering an avulsion fracture on the lateral side of his right foot in a home accident Friday, according to the Sox.
The Sox said Sale, 25, underwent x-rays Saturday morning and will undergo more tests after the swelling in his foot goes down. The Sox say they will have a better idea of whether Sale will be ready by Opening Day after those tests are done.
The lefthander went 12-4 with a 2.17 ERA and 208 strikeouts in 26 starts last season, finishing third in the AL Cy Young voting.
