Foley: Blackhawks Need To Find A Net Presence
VANCOUVER (WSCR) -- The Chicago Blackhawks dropped the first game of their opening series with the Vancouver Canucks. While the two teams played a pretty even game the Blackhawks were clearly missing something fans have grown used to seeing.
In the two previous playoff meetings between the them, both won by the Blackhawks, Chicago consistently had a presence in front of the net that made it difficult for Roberto Luongo to get comfortable.
But that presence was nowhere to be found on Wednesday night.
"If you watched the Blackhawks all year," Blackhawks play-by-play announcer Pat Foley said on the Danny Mac Show. "Really, who are the guys that consistently do that? Yes, [Tomas] Kopecky, he went out (with an injury), [Troy] Brouwer, he's playing hurt but he did get around the net a little bit last night, and Brian Bickell is a big body, but generally he's not a guy who just goes to the top of the blue paint. Other than that, find me someone on this roster that consistently does that.

"It's not a team that's really built that way, it's something [Joel] Quenneville tries to stress all the time. But just [Wednesday] night, they were not very good in that department. And they just need to make [Luongo] a little less comfortable."
