Floyd Placed On DL; Axelrod Recalled
(CBS) The White Sox placed right-hander Gavin Floyd on the disabled list Tuesday and recalled Dylan Axelrod from Triple-A Charlotte.
Floyd has a right elbow flexor strain for the second time this season. Axelrod is expected to start Wednesday night in Baltimore. He is 1-2 with a 5.63 ERA in 10 games with the White Sox this season, starting six games.
The team also announced the Alejandro De Aza has been assigned to Charlotte to begin his injury rehab assignment. De Aza has been on the disabled list retroactive to Aug. 18 with bruised left ribs.
