Flowers Could Have Edge Over A.J.; Humber To Return Monday
(CBS) A.J. Pierzynski is set to come off the disabled list Friday in Detroit, but there's a chance he might have to fight to regain his starting job.
Tyler Flowers has hit .267 with two home runs in Pierzynski's absence and provides better defense behind the plate. The White Sox are also 11-6 when Flowers starts at catcher.
"Tyler is playing great," Guillen said Wednesday. "Very good. When A.J. gets here, we'll figure out how we play them. I don't know if A.J. isn't playing. I really like the way Tyler is behind the plate right now."
Guillen also said pitcher Philip Humber will return from the disabled list Monday and start against the Twins in Minnesota.
