Flowers, Butterflies Grace New Trail At Notebaert Museum
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A brand new trail is covering a lot of ground in only a third of a mile -- right behind the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Lincoln Park.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's John Cody reports, Notebaert biology curator Douglas Taran says the nature trail wanders through oak savannas into the Woodward A. Wickham Butterfly Garden.
"Everything from scabiosa with beautiful pale blue flowers, to calaminth that has a wonderful mint fragrance and a lot of white flowers – we've had well over a dozens of species of butterflies show up to the garden; everything from monarchs and black swallowtails to exotic little fiery skippers," Taran said.

The Nature trail behind the Notebaert Nature Museum features a prairie and a pond, which is right now teeming with dragon fly larvae, frogs and red-eared slider turtles.
The museum is located at 2430 N. Cannon Dr., across Fullerton Drive from the Lincoln Park Zoo.
