Police: 1 Killed, 4 Wounded In Lawndale Shooting
(STMW) --One man was killed and four others were wounded in a Lawndale neighborhood shooting Friday night on the Southwest Side, police said.
They were standing on a sidewalk in the 1500 block of South Kedzie about 8:45 p.m. when they heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.
A 29-year-old man shot in the shoulder and chest took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the death.
Two 28-year-old men each shot in the right thigh went to the same hospital, though one drove himself and another was take by ambulance. Their conditions stabilized, police said.
A 21-year-old man shot in the left ankle took himself to Saint Anthony Hospital. His condition also stabilized, police said.
A 26-year-old man who suffered a graze wound to the right thigh declined medical attention at the scene.
Police think the shooting was gang-related.
