Five Shot In Washington Park Drive-By Attack
CHICAGO (CBS) – In another night of violence on Chicago's South Side, five men were shot in one location.
The shootings come as Mayor Rahm Emanuel today plans to unveil an expanded strategy to stop violence on the city's streets.
The five people were shot at 60th Street and Indiana in the Washington Park neighborhood. The suspects were seen firing shots from a white vehicle.
One of the victims is listed in critical condition and the four others are listed as stable. Most of the victims were shot in the leg or arm. One was shot in the side.
Also this morning, a 15-year-old boy is in the hospital after he was shot in the 6200 block of South Rhodes in the Woodlawn neighborhood. He was shot in the arm and the leg.
In Englewood, a man was shot Thursday night while sitting on a porch, in the 6200 block of South Winchester Avenue at 8:10 p.m., police said.
Also in Englewood, a man suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks Thursday night. The 20-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 5700 block of South Emerald Avenue when a male approached on foot and fired shots about 9:17 p.m., police said.
There is nobody in custody any of the shootings, police said.
