Five Hurt In Lawndale Rollover Crash
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Five people were hurt when a vehicle clipped a parked car, then rolled over Saturday night in the West Side Lawndale neighborhood.
A 2001 Ford Explorer SUV was traveling east when it struck the rear of a parked 1998 GMC pickup truck and rolled over about 10 p.m. in the 4400 block of West Cermak Road, police said.
The 37-year-old male driver was extricated from the vehicle and taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital with a fractured arm and head injuries, police said.
Three men inside the SUV-- ages 48, 37, 63-- were taken with minor injuries to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and Mount Sinai, police said.
The 63-year-old male driver of the parked GMC was hospitalized at Stroger, police said.
The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
