Fisk: Tenth Inning Victory A 'Good Sign' For White Sox
CHICAGO (WSCR) On Monday night, the Chicago White Sox will go for their third straight win, it would be the longest winning streak of their 2011 campaign.
While at 13-22 the White Sox still have the worst record in baseball, it seems that the pitching staff is pulling their weight. The White Sox have received 20 quality starts from their starting pitchers, good for 10th most in baseball.
"The exciting part of it is that everyone is always worried about the pitching staff," former White Sox great Carlton Fisk said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "No matter what team you are, can the pitching staff hold up or hold their own and are they going to make it through the season? Well the pitching staff has done pretty well, you know, over the course of the season so far. It's just the hitters that just are having a hard time getting going."

Over the offseason the White Sox put together an offense, that on paper, should produce a lot of runs. But so far this season they haven't been able to find any consistent production.
"Although [Sunday] night might be a start," Fisk said. "'Pauly' goes five-for-five and they win in extra innings. A lot of times when your hitting is not working, the longer you go into the game, the more frustrating it is, the more people try to do more than they're capable of doing. So everybody wants to be the hero, everybody wants to hit a home run. But to score three runs in extra innings, that's a good sign, that's a real good sign."
