First Lady Coming To Chicago Next Month To Address Youth Violence
CHICAGO (CBS) -- First Lady Michelle Obama will be coming home to Chicago on April 10, to discuss programs for at-risk youth and efforts to reduce gun- and gang-related violence.
Mrs. Obama will speak at a luncheon titled "Working Together to Address Youth Violence in Chicago," hosted by the mayor and local business and philanthropic leaders, according to the mayor's office.
She will urge local businesses to invest in programs aimed at reducing the risk of children getting involved in gangs and drugs.
Mrs. Obama was in Chicago last month to attend the funeral of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, who was shot and killed just blocks from the Obama family home in Kenwood in January. She then hosted Hadiya's parents at the State of the Union Address in Washington, D.C.
