Firefighter Hospitalized After Extra-Alarm Wrigleyville Blaze
CHICAGO (STMW) --A firefighter was hospitalized after crews battled a two-alarm fire Tuesday afternoon in the North Side Wrigleyville neighborhood.
A second alarm was called for the blaze in a 2 1/2-story frame building the 3600 block of North Wayne Avenue about 12:45 p.m., Fire Media Affairs said.
The fire also spread to an adjacent building to the north, the fire department said.
A firefighter was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with an unidentified injury, Fire Media Affairs said.
The fire was extinguished as of 1:19 p.m. with no other injuries, accoridng to the fire department. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
