Firefighter Hurt In East Side Restaurant Fire
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A firefighter was hospitalized after a fire broke out in a restaurant on the Far South Side Monday morning.
A "mayday" call, signaling firefighters were in distress, was sent out shortly before 7 a.m. as crews worked to extinguish the fire in the 10500 block of South Ewing Avenue in the East Side neighborhood, according to Fire Media Affairs.
One firefighter was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition, fire media said.
The fire was reported out about 7:15 a.m.
