Firefighter Hurt In Blaze Near 63rd And Western
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A firefighter was hurt overnight while battling flames in an abandoned commercial building on the city's South Side overnight.
The fire broke out around 11 p.m. Tuesday in an abandoned building at 6250 S. Oakley Ave., on the cusp of the West Englewood and Marquette Park neighborhoods.
Fire crews were staged at the busy intersection of 63rd Street and Western Avenue as the blaze raged.
One firefighter was hurt when debris flew into his eyes. No one else was seriously injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
