Firefighter Hospitalized From Scene Of West Side Blaze
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A firefighter was taken to the hospital Monday morning from the scene of a fire on the city's West Side.
The fire broke out sometime before 9 a.m. on the first floor of a vacant building at Madison and Whipple streets in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, fire officials said.
The three-story building was gutted by the blaze.
The firefighter was not injured in the fire, but was taken to Rush University Medical Center with an unspecified medical condition, officials said.
No other injuries were reported.
