Fire Tears Through Humboldt Park House
UPDATED 12/06/10 8:17 a.m.
CHICAGO (CBS) - Firefighters braved frigid conditions as they battled flames in a Humboldt Park neighborhood house.
Firefighters responded at 12:38 a.m. to the report of a fire at 1013 N. Drake Ave., according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado.
When fire crews arrived, they found fire on the first and second floors of a two-story building, Rosado said.
No one was hurt, but several residents were displaced, according to Rosado, who did not have a specific number of displacements.
As of 4:45 a.m.. Harrison District officers were helping to clear the scene, police said.
Everyone reportedly made it out safely, and no one was seriously injured. But the single-digit temperatures prompted the Chicago Transit Authority to send a warming bus for the multiple people displaced, police said.
The cause of the fire has yet to be revealed.
