Fire Sweeps Through Building On Irving Park Road
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Four people were displaced Tuesday morning in a fire that broke out on Irving Park Road in the St. Ben's neighborhood.
The fire broke out around 4 a.m. in the building at 2117 W. Irving Park Rd., according to Fire Media Affairs.
The three-story brick building houses a commercial space on the ground floor, and apartments above.
The Industrial Workers of the World operates its general headquarters from the ground floor storefront in the building.
Dispatch reports indicated that back porches on the residential floors caught fire, and the fire spread to the storefront.
The fire was extinguished about 4:30 a.m., according to Fire Media Affairs. Four adults were displaced by the fire.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
