Fire Suspends Service On Blue Line
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Service on the CTA's Blue Line was briefly suspended on Friday morning due to a small rubbish fire in the subway.
The fire department responded to the Grand/Milwaukee area after reports of smoke and a small fire caused by garbage on the third rail.
Service was suspended between Racine and Damen around 7:30 a.m.
Fire crews quickly put out the fire, and commuters left the train on their own though hazy smoke.
The CTA reported minor delays after service resumed around 8:15 a.m.
