Fire Engulfs House In Logan Square, Spreads To Another
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A large fire in the Logan Square neighborhood has severely damaged one home and spread to another.
CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports the Fire Department first responded around 5:45 a.m. to a blaze in a 2 1/2-story house in the 1700 block of North Kimball Avenue.
The fire later spread to a neighboring 2 1/2-story building.
There was a large amount of smoke and fire pouring from the attic space and roof of the first building, and part of the roof collapsed during the blaze.
After the flames on the roof were under control, a number of firefighters could be seen on the roof, ventilating the building to get water into the attic and help keep the fire under control.
The fire was under control, though still burning, as of 6:30 a.m.
No injuries have been reported.
