Fire Crews Dispatched As Construction Barge Tips In Chicago River
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Fire Department was one the scene Wednesday afternoon as a construction barge tipped over and began taking on water in the Chicago River's South Branch downtown.
As WBBM Newsradio's John Cody reports, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford says no one was on the barge on the river at Adams Street, and there was no danger to human life.
But fire crews were still sent out to rectify the situation, so that the barge didn't end up being a navigation hazard in the river.
Further details were not immediately available.
