Man Injured In Maywood Fire
UPDATED 02/18/11 8:47 a.m.
MAYWOOD, Ill. (CBS) -- A fire broke out Friday morning in a house in west suburban Maywood, leaving an elderly man injured.
CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports the fire broke out in at least one room on the second floor of a four-flat frame apartment house at 708 S. 6th Ave. in Maywood.
Firefighters found heavy fire coming out of the second-floor windows, said Fire Capt. Denard Wade Sr.
Fire crews from Maywood and several other suburbs battled the blaze with an interior attack.
One man who lived on the second floor was transported to Loyola University Medical Center for smoke inhalation and observation, the captain said. Details about the man's condition were not available.
The causes of the fire are under investigation, Wade said, but there doesn't appear to have been any foul play.
