Fire Breaks Out In Glencoe Home
GLENCOE, Ill. (STMW) - A fire that started in a large home under renovation in north suburban Glencoe is under control with no injuries.
Construction workers inside the home, 67 Estate Dr., tried to put the fire out themselves, but called the fire department at 7 a.m., according to Deputy Chief Alan Kebby.
When crews got there, there were flames coming from the basement area, according to Kebby who said no one was hurt and the fire was brought under control at 8:11 a.m.
The large home is "brand new'' but there are new owners who were doing renovation on it. The home is off Sheridan Road, in a residential area, the deputy chief said.
Kebby did not know what started the fire and investigators remain on the scene as of 8:45 a.m.
There is no reason to suspect foul play, he said.
