Final Goodbyes Coming For Fallen Firefighters
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Family and friends are set to begin saying their final goodbyes to the two Chicago firefighters killed in the line of duty last week.
Memorial services are now scheduled for firefighters Corey Ankum, 34, and Edward Striger, 47. The services will be open to the public.

Visitation for Stringer will be held Monday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St. in Oak Lawn. Stringer's funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave.
Ankum's visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Apostolic Church of God, at 6320 S. Dorchester Ave. His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the same church.
Firefighters from all over the city, and even from other states, will come out to pay their respects at the two funerals next week.
Ankum and Stringer both died Wednesday as they fought a fire at the vacant Banner Laundromat and Dry Cleaners, 1744 E. 75th St.
A wall and roof collapsed on top of them as they searched through a vacant burned-out building, out of concern that homeless people might be inside.
Fire officials later determined that someone set fire to wood or garbage inside the building to start the raging blaze. The abandoned building was at times used as a shelter from the cold by homeless people in the area.
A total of 17 other firefighters were injured in the Wednesday morning fire.
