Woman, 94, Fatally Struck By Dump Truck In Des Plaines
(STMW) -- An elderly woman was fatally struck by a dump truck Thursday afternoon in northwest suburban Des Plaines.
Firefighters responded about 2:15 p.m. to a strip mall in the 700 block of Golf Road, Des Plaines Fire Chief Alan Wax said.
Lilah M. DePaul, 94, was struck and killed by a truck in a parking lot there, authorities said.
DePaul, of the 200 block of Rob Roy Lane in Prospect Heights, was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
A second person was taken by ambulance to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Wax said, but further details on his or her involvement or condition was not immediately known.
Police did not immediately respond to messages Thursday afternoon.
