Felony Franks Reopening In Oak Park
(CBS) -- Felony Franks, the hot dog restaurant that hires only ex-offenders is reopening today after closing down almost three years ago, reports WBBM's Steve Miller.
Felony Franks, the dream of entrepreneur Jim Andrews, opened in Chicago five years ago, but it ran into trouble: an alderman who didn't like the name and problems getting a sign from the city. It closed.
Now Andrews' 43-year-old son Deno is opening Felony Franks in Oak Park.

"I really feel like my family was wronged, what happened in the city. I don't usually get emotional about business decisions but I really feel strongly about the mission."
Deno Andrews says the reopening of Felony Franks is vindication for his family.
"I would be lying to you if I told you it didn't have a big influence in my decision to do this."
Andrews says the Felony Franks in Oak Park has eight full-time employees and two part-time. All ex-offenders with felony records.
This Felony Franks has a menu like the original, the "Home of the Misdemeanor Wiener."
