Feds Seek Suspect Who Attempted To Rob Schiller Park Bank
SCHILLER PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- Federal authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a man who tried to rob a bank in northwest suburban Schiller Park last month.
The suspect, dubbed the "Schiller Park Bank Robber," tried to rob the TCF Bank branch at 9343 W. Irving Park Rd. on Aug. 2, according to the FBI.
According to witnesses, at about 9:25 a.m. the suspect went to a counter and wrote a demand note on a withdrawal slip. He presented it to a teller, who began asking him questions about the account, a release from the FBI said.
The robber said he did not have an account and began mumbling incoherently before grabbing the note and running out without any cash, the release said. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Mediterranean man 25 to 35, 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10 with a medium build. He was wearing a brown and white plaid shirt, blue jeans, sunglasses and a brown beret with a white stripe.
Anyone with information should contact the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
