FedEx Truck Flips Over On Indiana Expressway
CROWN POINT, Ind. (CBS) -- A Federal Express semi truck rolled over on Interstate 65 in Northwest Indiana, causing big problems for the morning rush hour Thursday.
Just after 5:30 a.m. Thursday, the FedEx truck was heading north on I-65 near the Crown Point exit when the driver veered left for an unknown reason. The truck went off the road and down a ditch, hit a barrier, and finally flipped over.
The driver, Roy C. Brown, 37, of Justice, Ill., managed to climb out of the semi before police arrived. He was taken to Franciscan St. Anthony Health Center in Crown Point for abrasions and pain, the release said. He had been driving to Chicago from Louisville, Ky.
The truck was a 2006 Volvo semi with two box trailers. There was a diesel leak but no cargo was damaged, the release said.
Both the north and southbound lanes of I-65 were closed for almost two hours. One southbound lane remained closed as of 11 a.m.
