Federal Agents Descend On Home In Rural Indiana
By John Dodge
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Federal agents have descended on a compound in rural Indiana that reportedly contains a large amount of historical artifacts, including some from World War II, sources said Wednesday.
Aerial photos from WISH-TV in Indianapolis show at least two large command vehicles on the side of a large brown two-story building in the small town of Waldron, which is southeast of Indianapolis.
The site appears to be the location of Wyman Research, 8339 S 850 W, a small consumer electronics business. It was unclear whether Wyman is still operating as a business, but a large faded Wyman Research sign was noticeable on one of several buildings on the property.
Several tan dome tents had been erected in the back of building.
The area is also surrounded by a house and a farm, and agents appeared to have set up search operations in some of the buildings there, too.
There were several large antennas scattered throughout the compound.
A federal law enforcement source told CBS News the man on the property has a large collection of artifacts that the authorities are attempting to recover.
Officials told WISH the man has a large collection of historical artifacts, including items from World War II. The man reportedly worked on the project that created the atom bomb.
A neighbor said the man had what many referred to as a museum, and he would sometimes provide tours.
No further details were immediately available.
