Her father, Frank, says Kane County officials told him Tanner got into a cab and asked to go somewhere.
"'I'm going to pay you with blessings.' That's what she told him," Frank Conroyd said. "And he blessed her back instead."
Frank Conroyd says the driver took Tanner to a medical facility. Once she was there, authorities were finally notified of her whereabouts.
Frank Conroyd says the cab driver could've just thrown her out and gone on his way, but he stepped up instead.
Conroyd says he wants to meet the driver, and thank him for delivering his daughter to safety. He says what the driver did restores his faith in humanity.
"I'll work as hard to find the cab driver as I (did) to find my daughter," he said.
