Father, Son Perish In House Fire In Gary
GARY, Ind. (CBS) -- A father and son died early Thursday in a house fire in Gary, police said.
The Gary Police and Fire Departments were called around 4:40 a.m. to the 4200 block of West 21st Avenue for a house fire.
Once the fire was put out, authorities discovered two residents, John Berry 94 and Darrick Berry, 47, were found deceased inside the home.
Both men died of severe burns and smoke inhalation, according to the Lake County coroner's office.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation.
