Father Of Drowning Victim Warns Others About Water Dangers
(CBS) -- A suburban father whose son drowned is talking about water safety and raising money for a good cause.
Last summer, 15-year-old Matt Kocher died while swimming in Lake Michigan and now his parents are warning others about the dangers.
"You can't compete against a rip current," said John Kocher.
The family of Matt Kocher started a scholarship fund in their deceased son's name, and were holding a fundraising bowling event Sunday night in Orland Park.
The scholarships will be awarded to students based on athletics, academics and community service.
