Family Seeks Answers In Hit-Run Accident
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- The family of a Des Plaines teenager killed by a truck driver who might not have known what he'd done is hoping he'll come forward so they can have some closure.
WBBM's Mike Krauser reports, police are leafleting the area where it happened, looking to jog someone's memory.
Choice Taylor's death is considered a hit-and-run, but the driver of the truck that hit him as he crossed Algonquin Road last Friday may have no idea what happened.
Witnesses said the man got out of his cab, checked for damage and left. He was perhaps unaware he'd hit the 17-year-old.

The truck is described as red or burgundy with a dull finish. It was not pulling a trailer.
Taylor's sister, Tatiana, hopes the person comes forward.
"We know it was an accident," she said. "We're not looking for jail time, we're not looking to sue. We are just looking to meet the person. Like my mom said, he needs to heal, as well."
She'd go to court, she says, and beg for leniency for the man.
And, she says, the family is coping, with a lot of support.
"Complete strangers have come by and brought food and cakes and just wanted to come by and spend a moment with my mom and just say that they were sorry."
Tonight, family and friends will gather at the public library where Choice Taylor often spent his time.
