Fake Cops Steal Wallet From Driver On I-57
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two police impersonators stole a wallet from a motorist during a bogus traffic stop Wednesday on Interstate 57.
The two men were inside a white Chevy Tahoe with flashing lights in the grill when they pulled over a motorist about 12:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-57 at Lincoln Highway, Illinois State Police District Chicago Sgt. Mike Dolis said.
The pair were not in uniform when they approached the motorist and stole his wallet, which contained $80-$200, Dolis said.
The men then fled south on Lincoln Highway, Dolis said.
No one was injured, Dolis said.
