Extra-Alarm Fire Rages At House In Hampshire
HAMPSHIRE, Ill. (CBS) -- An extra-alarm fire raged Tuesday morning at a house in the town of Hampshire in northwestern Kane County.
Crews were called to the fire near Illinois Route 72 and Brier Hill Road around 5:20 a.m.., according to a firefighter who answered at the Hampshire Fire Department station.
The fire was still raging, and had been raised to a fourth alarm as of about 6:30 a.m., the firefighter said. Crews from neighboring suburbs are assisting.
Dispatch reports indicate the flames had fully consumed a house.
There was no word immediately on injuries.
