Expert Picks: Bears Won't Have Problem With Lions

(CBS)Every week during the Bears season, our experts from 670 The Score, CBS2 and WBBM Newsradio 780 & 105.9 FM will provide their weekly picks for the Bears game. This week the Bears take on the Lions on Monday Night Football and, surprisingly, the group is in complete agreement:

Dan McNeil Terry Boers Matt Spiegel
Bears 30, Lions 20 Bears 34, Lions 20 Bears 31, Lions 21
The Lions had a bye to regroup and returned to have 16 penalties called on them in their gift-wrapped win in Philly. If the Bears protect reasonably, they win easily. The Lions are one of the dumbest teams in football. That cue comes from their coach, who should be wearing clown makeup sitting in a Midway dunk tank. But are they dangerous? Yes. Are they disciplined enough? Probably not. The Lions wide-9 defensive scheme has grown increasingly easy for the Bears to run against, right up the gut. That eventually opens up the passing lanes, and the offense's confidence grows.

Hub Arkush Dan Hampton Adam Hoge
Bears 31, Lions 20 Bears 35, Lions 32 Bears 27, Lions 13
Lions have been capable in the past but haven't done anything this year to prove they are now. The Bears are coming off a bye and seemingly still feel they have things to prove. They are too much for Lions here. Monday night fireworks are the story with both teams moving the ball at will. But the Bears will pull out a squeaker. I see the Bears coming out a little rusty early off the bye, but a commitment to the run gives them a lead before halftime. I'll keep predicting strong play -- and scores -- from the defense until the unit proves otherwise.

Ben Finfer Matt Abbatacola Josh Liss
Bears 34, Lions 17 Bears 37, Lions 9 Bears 19, Lions 13
The Bears are coming off the bye, are mostly healthy, and playing at home. No way they lose this one. Matt Forte has his first huge game of the season and the defense continues to dominate. Add in a Devin Hester return TD for good measure. It's over early as the Bears score twice on special teams, once on D and Bush gets a touch as Forte runs all over the Detroit defense. Jay Cutler will smile in the 4th quarter but will be missed by TV cameras. Robbie Gould out-kicks Jason Hanson in a game full of passing yards, but low on touchdowns.

Ryan Baker Megan Mawicke
Bears 28, Lions 24 Bears 26, Lions 20
It'll take 60 minutes to tame these no longer cowardly Lions, however, the Bears will leave their den victorious and still in control of the division after winning the turnover battle. The Lions are coming off an emotional win but the Bears are well rested. The defensive line will harass Matt Stafford. Look for Devin Hester's Monday Night Magic to return. The last time he busted one for a TD was against Detroit.
