Ex-Illini Forward Richmond Arrested On Multiple Charges

(CBS) Former Illini basketball player Jereme Richmond is currently being held in Lake County Jail after being arrested Monday after a confrontation at a Waukegan home.
Richmond's bond was set at $100,000 and is he is facing charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, battery, possession of a firearm and assault, according to Waukegan Police Commander Gabe Guzman.
The incident occurred Monday afternoon in the 3000 block of Golfmoor and three other men were arrested along with Richmond. A .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun was found in the vehicle driven by the men.
According to the police report, Richmond arrived at the home of a woman he may of dated and yelled: "You looking for me? I'm here now. I'll shoot your ass."
Richmond attended the University of Illinois for just one season and clashed with coaches and players before leaving the program. He declared for the NBA Draft, but went undrafted in June.
"I am saddened to learn about the incident involving Jereme," Illinois coach Bruce Weber said in a statement. "We wish the best for the young people involved and their families as they work through this situation."
