Ex-Hawk Burish Put On IR After Fight
In his time playing for the Chicago Blackhawks, Adam Burish was known as an instigator. And that's exactly why he dropped the gloves on Thursday night for a fight that eventually put him on injured reserve.
The Dallas Stars have placed Burish on injured reserve and sent him home with teammates Krys Barch and Raymond Sawada after all were injured in a fight-marred game in Boston.
Burish sustained a facial injury in a fight with Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference, the fourth fight of the first period in the Stars' 6-3 loss Thursday night.
Sawada hurt his shoulder and took a shot to the head from Daniel Paille, who was ejected from the game. On Friday, the NHL suspended Paille for four games for what it termed an illegal check.
Barch also sustained a facial injury when he was involved in one of three fights that occurred in the first few seconds of the game.
Dallas recalled left wing Francis Wathier from the Texas Stars in the AHL.
