Ex-Bears Offensive Coordinator Aaron Kromer Arrested For Battery
DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. (CBS/AP) — Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer has been arrested in Florida for battery.
Walton County jail records show 48-year-old Kromer was taken into custody just before 2 a.m. Sunday and released about an hour later.
He is charged with battery that caused bodily harm.
According to the Walton County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a reported battery and learned that Kromer and his son confronted three boys fishing at the beach over their use of beach chairs.
The boys told deputies grabbed their fishing poles into the water, pushed one boy to the ground and punched him in the face before telling them to return the chairs to where they found them. Kromer then told one of the boys he would kill his family, the victim told deputies.
A spokeswoman for the Walton County Sheriff's Office did not immediately respond to a call seeking further details.
In a written statement, the Bills said, "We are aware of the report and in the process of gathering the facts."
Kromer joined the team in January after being fired from the Chicago Bears.
