'Everyone' Should Be Available For The Cubs
CHICAGO (WSCR) As the Chicago Cubs' season continues to drag on, it becomes more and more apparent that the club won't contend for the division title this season, and needs some serious help if it wants to contend in the next few years.
And becuase of that, the Cubs need to start thinking about moving some of their expiring contracts.
"How is not everybody available for something," former Cub and current analyst Todd Hollandsworth said on the Danny Mac Show.
"Yes, you want guys to play hard and you need to win, but the truth is, I mean, you need more. You need more from your offense. You need more from your starting rotation, consistently. Is it going to happen and change this year? Probably not...So you've got some of these expiring contracts, I mean, let's just be realistic. Which way are we all leaning right now? Well of course you're going to move these guys, because you know what? That times is right around the corner, it's less than two months away.

"I mean sure, you've got a couple guys that are virtually untouchable. But I don't know how you're not in a position, that everybody is available if you can work something out and you believe it's going to make your ball club better. Not just unloading guys to unload them, but if you can make your team better because of it."
