Evanston Cops Seek Witnesses To Drive-By Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police in north suburban Evanston were asking for help tracking down the shooter or shooters involved in a drive-by that left two young men wounded over the weekend.
Police said a 22-year-old man from Round Lake Beach and a 23-year-old man from Waukegan were shot shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, near Howard Street and Dodge Avenue, as they were driving home from a club in Chicago.
Police said a gray or silver LIncoln SUV pulled up alongside them, and someone inside fired at their vehicle.
Surveillance video from the area showed a third vehicle at the scene at the time of the shooting, and detectives said witnesses from that vehicle have yet to come forward.
Anyone with information about the shooting should call Evanston police at (847) 866-5000, or texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) and placing EPDTIP in the message line, with the anonymous information.
