ESPN Radio Host Charged With Drunken Driving
SKOKIE (CBS) -- A local ESPN radio host has been charged with drunken driving after being arrested over the weekend in north suburban Skokie.
Harry Teinowitz, who is a host of "The Afternoon Saloon" weekdays on ESPN (AM-1000), was driving a 2011 Nissan Murano when he was pulled over in the 3800 block of Greenwood Street on Friday night, according to Skokie police.
Teinowitz had a blood-alcohol level of .131, almost twice the legal limit. He was charged with improper lane usage and two counts of DUI.
He surrendered his driver's license, posted bail and was released, according to Skokie Police Officer Steven Odeshoo.
Teinowitz is due in court on March 23 in Skokie.
Teinowitz, who got his start as a comic, has been a local radio personality since the early 1990s. He has appeared in several movies, including small parts in "Risky Business" and "Return To Me," according to his bio on ESPN's website.
