Esiason To Bears: Do What Works
(WSCR) As the Bears offense struggles to find its identity, CBS Sports football analyst Boomer Esiason thinks the Bears should just stick to what works.
"What they did last week is that they had so much success running the football with Matt Forte, why wouldn't you just continue to do that?" Esiason told The McNeil and Spiegel Show on Monday. "Maybe it kind of marginalizes Jay Cutler, but it also wins football games for you."
Cutler threw for 102 yards on 17 attempts in the Bears' win over the Panthers last Sunday, but Forte's career day on the ground of 205 yards and a touchdown ultimately led the Bears to the win.

Forte easily has been the Bears most productive weapon on offense this season, but facing the front four of the Lions might challenge Forte as he comes off the best game of his career.
"Matt Forte is one of the best running backs in football, not only by his running ability, but his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield," Esiason said. "So he is the central figure for the Bears offense. Tonight, it's going to be a lot more difficult to run the football than it was last week, so Jay Cutler will definitely have to make plays if the Bears want to win this game."
