Esiason: It's All On Cutler Now
(WSCR) Jay Cutler, it's your time to shine.
Before the 2012 season began, the Bears went out and got Cutler everything the quarterback asked for. He has a Pro Bowl running back, a legitimate No. 1 receiver and an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach that let him call the shots.
With all the toys the Bears signal caller has, the pressure now rests solely on his shoulders.
"It always goes back to the quarterback," Boomer Esiason told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. "I hate to say it, and unfortunately Jay Cutler is going to hear it until the numbers start improving. They went out and got pretty much everybody that he was supposedly comfortable with around him. It's now up for him to take it to the next level. When you have guys like Brandon Marshall and you add Michael Bush to the mix, and you bring in his quarterbacks coach from Denver and you have a whole new offense that's predicated on protecting him, now it's up to him."

The Bears have scored just two offensive touchdowns in their last two games. The challenge for the offense won't get any easier when they face Dallas on Monday Night Football.
"I know it's been frustrating," Esiason said. "(Chicago is) probably one of the fan bases out there that has a 2-1 football team but you're not happy with where you're at right now. I understand that. If they can win on Monday night in Dallas, which will be a tall order for them, because they're going up against the NFL's No. 1 defense. You take a look at (the Bears') schedule and there's a chance they could run off three or four wins right in a row."
