Employee Beaten, Shot During Store Robbery
CHICAGO (STMW) - Two men forced their way into a South Side store Friday evening, beat up an employee, then shot him multiple times on their way out, police said.
The 66-year-old man was shot in the armed robbery at a store in the 300 block of East 69th Street at 5:10 p.m., police said.
Two men walked into the store and one beat the employee up. The other then demanded money from him and shot him multiple times in the back and chest, police said.
The two then ran away without any proceeds from the store.
The employee was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, police said.
No one was in custody Friday night. Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
