Emergency Repairs Snarl South Lake Shore Drive
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A portion of South Lake Shore Drive buckled in the heat Wednesday, forcing emergency repairs and big traffic backups.
The concrete buckled in the southbound lanes near 47th Street.
Crews have closed three lanes as they work to repair the road.
As of 5 p.m. traffic was backed up all the way to Solider Field.
By 5:30, all lanes were opened, but traffic remained backed up.
