Emergency Agency Gets High Marks For Blizzard
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WBBM) -- The head of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency gave a positive review to the state's preparation for, and response to, the blizzard last week.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Dave Dahl reports, interim IEMA director Joe Klinger says it helps to take the weather forecast seriously.

"I think people have become very aware of how accurate these warnings are, and we were very impressed how many motorists took appropriate precautions, and essentially hunkered down to weather this significant event," Klinger said, "so the fewer people out there at risk saves lives and reduces problems."
Klinger says a thorough evaluation is coming, but he gives his team high marks for now.
The blizzard on Tuesday and Wednesday dumped 20.2 inches of snow on the Chicago area.
