Emanuel To Get Face Time With Obama On Friday
CHICAGO (CBS/AP) – Rahm Emanuel, the mayor-elect of Chicago, will return to White House on Friday to meet with his former boss, President Obama.
The transition office for the new Chicago mayor-elect told CBS 2 that Emanuel is scheduled to visit with President Barack Obama.
Emanuel was Obama's chief of staff before he left the White House in October to run for Chicago mayor.
Emanuel trounced five opponents to win the Feb. 22 election to replace retiring Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, who didn't seek a seventh term.
Emanuel spokesman Ben LaBolt said the mayor-elect also will spend the weekend in Washington with his family, where they still live. Emanuel's wife and three children won't return to Chicago until the end of the school year.
Emanuel's wife Amy and his children were with him on the campaign trail during its final days.
